Reaktor 6.3 now allows patching

2 min read
Native Instruments Reaktor's latest update now allows patching for a modular synth environment on the computer. It is one of the best synth making vsts and DSP environments in the market.

Reaktor has always blurred the lines between synth building and synth performance, now it has become even more groundbreaking, allowing you to “patch” blocks together on the front panel.

Previously, it was easy enough to go into the guts of synths and patch things together from there, but it made the process feel like you were deep in software.

Now you can build a fully virtual modular synthesis setup, just as you would build a real-life hardware one.

From the website, this is what they say comes with 6.3:

  • Patch’n’Play functionality allows for the most natural modular experience for intuitive workflow
  • User experience is drastically improved with quick-search browsing, and many improvements to graphics
  • BLOCKS BASE contains everything you need to start exploring modular synthesis, including tutorial racks showcasing different synthesis methods.
  • BLOCKS PRIMES is an expressive set of synthesis and FX modules giving you advanced control and manipulation of your modular rig
  • UNFILTERED AUDIO, GENKI INSTRUMENTS, HOLONIC SYSTEMS, TOY BOX and ACL are the first of many leading instrument builders contributing to the Blocks ecosystem.

What we can see here, is that they have done a massive overhaul of the system. Not only will you now be able to edit it like a real modular synth, but you will now have a bunch of extra features and blocks to work with!

It seems like the market, which has slowly seen patchable virtual modular synths becoming more available, has pushed Native Instruments into producing something to not only match them but beat them.
